I Haz A Sick….

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/I am sick.

This post is more for me than for you. I’m about to tell myself that I need to take the entire week off from going to the gym / running. That means no boxing. No stairs. No boot camp. No Godfather. No running. It means allowing myself to relax and not get mad that I got sick…super sick. I don’t know why I get so mad at myself when I’m not running at mach speed all the time. I don’t know why I feel like I’m letting everyone around me down when I don’t feel well. I know it doesn’t make sense logically but it’s what goes on in my mind. So I’m here to make a public announcement: NO GYM / RUNNING / BREAKING A SWEAT (except for the fever I’m running) for the rest of the week.

Here are some things running through my head:

  • I’m going to gain weight.
  • I shouldn’t eat so much this week.
  • I should have taken better care of myself.
  • Laying around the house makes me lazy.
  • I’m not as sick as I think I am.
  • I should just push through.

These are just thoughts and thoughts have no control over me. It’s okay to take a week off and let my body heal. It’s what I would tell someone around me that was sick. So here I am taking the advice that I would give to a friend…

Relax.

Heal.

Come back kicking ass!

  • I hope you get better soon! Relax, you will not undo 115 pounds in one week. You are allowed to be sick.

  • Yep…I second what Hanlie said. But I also know EXACTLY how you feel. It goes with the territory. The good news is that once you’re on the other side, and you realize that none of those bad things have happened, you will gain a little trust in yourself that you didn’t have before. And so on.

  • Feel better soon! I am right with you on the “I’m going to gain weight” thought process. I overslept and missed my Tuesday morning run. My first thought was that I was going to gain weight and how could I cut calories today. *Sigh* This process is hard!!! I am so proud of you Tara and that you know when you need to step back and rest. 🙂

  • Feel better!

And I am glad you get the LOL Dogs/Cats reference. I sent my husband a text message last week that said “I has a sad.” And he didn’t get it. I am not alone, after all.

  • some times you have to take care of you, and rest. It’s hard I have been there but it’s the best thing for you.

    Get better soon!!

  • Kim

Take care of yourself and feel better soon! 🙂
